The day is with the crew from Eng. 1 and Assistant Chief Bulke as they respond to controlled burns by property owners that go out of control. First up, the water tender arrives on-scene at a ranch no hydrants. Just as they put that one out, a call comes in for a wildland fire along the river about thirty miles out of town. We arrive on-scene to find a few acres on fire near a small river stream. As we get through the gate, the Assistant Chief gets held up by the property owners. They do not want people on their land and hold up all other rigs that respond to the fire. It turns out that the family is at war with a neighboring family; at least that is what we were told.
